I always love checking out Atomic Holiday Bazaar & this year it was TWO days - double fun!!! Even more exciting was the Nashville Steampunk Fashion Show i was asked to do makeup for. The clothing was designed by Adrien Lucas, AHB's producer, & Joanna Coblentz of Dollface, Inc. Thanks ladies, it was a blast.
So this is just a tease . . . for those who were there you know what's coming! And for those who weren't . . . well, take a look & you'll be sure to make it next year! Come back in a week or so for more pics from Atomic!
And thanks to my girl (& fellow MAC junkie!!) Jen-O, for being such a fabulous model. You rock, sister! Nashville Steampunk clothing design: Joanna Coblentz a.k.a. Miss Dollface Photo by: Brian David Braun - Aperture Photography
This assignment was way too much fun. Of course it all had to do with the company. I was thrilled when my fiend Christine Alexander, one of the Bay Area's funniest women, asked me to do her makeup for a photo shoot. She explained that she was doing a 1950's style shoot to send in for a casting call for the TV show Mad Men. I was even more excited as the online entries were narrowed down to the top few & Christine's (& MY) picture was there!!! It was a great effort by all involved - myself, Christine, our assistant (my step-daughter) Genevieve, and of course, photographer Billy Elkins.
Marina was so thrilled with the finished product she & Billy put together a video to post on You Tube! It's set to a song by Marlene Deitrich. PERFECT!
I recently had the pleasure of meeting Marina Sommers. A beautiful model who wanted to try something new . . . vintage/retro modeling. My friend Billy Elkins & I worked together on this shoot. After some careful research he & Marina decided to try to replicate some iconic photos of Marlene Dietrich. We all had a wonderful time on the shoot & really created something magical. If you're interested in doing a vintage themed photo shoot contact me or Billy directly.
Before the Drop Dead Gorgeous Fashion Show I got together with my girls Joanna & Alena to fix them up like the "glam-zombies" that would be in the show. Two of these pics were used on the promo flyer for the show. Photos were taken by Billy Elkins of Encompass Creative. Check out his site - definately worth a look.
